Booking & Payment

Yes, absolutely. We are not an anonymous booking platform, but real sailors. We know that an offshore sailing trip is a special decision where trust is essential.

Availability: The best way to contact us is via WhatsApp or e-mail. Since we are often out sailing ourselves, this is the quickest way to reach us. We will reply as soon as possible – even if we are currently sailing offshore ourselves.

Honesty: In our conversation, we'll work together to determine if our concept is exactly what you're looking for and meets your expectations. If your ideas point in a different direction, we'll tell you openly and gladly recommend suitable alternatives at partner sailing schools.

Get to know: Use dialogue to get to know us and our approach. Ask us your questions – trust is built through communication.

The crucial difference lies in the Professionalism and reliability. We are an official tour operator and sail commercially. This offers you a stable framework – whereas private offers are unfortunately often cancelled at short notice.

Security: We invest significant sums annually in the maintenance of our sailing yacht and state-of-the-art safety equipment. Our sailing yacht undergoes rigorous inspections and has received the official ship safety certificate from the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the Transport Sector (BG Verkehr) – a high standard that private yachts are not required to meet.

Reliability: With us, there's no "maybe." We work with a fixed schedule and offer you an extremely high guarantee that your trip will take place. You can book your arrival with certainty and rest assured that your sailing trip will actually go ahead.

Guide: Our skippers are professionals, experienced instructors, and not holidaymakers. This guarantees you not only maximum safety but also an extremely high level of organization – from pre-purchased supplies and professional route planning to daily briefings and instructions.

Yes, absolutely. Our modern booking system allows you to pay for your trip conveniently and securely by credit card. This is the fastest way to complete your booking in a single step.

Safe & Fast: The transaction is processed via Stripe, the world's leading payment service provider. We do not store any card data; everything is encrypted and adheres to the highest security standards.

Full payment: When paying by credit card, the Total booking amount (100 %) Payment is made immediately. Your berth is therefore reserved for you without any waiting time, and you no longer need to worry about further payment deadlines or manual transfers.

Direct comparison: If you prefer to pay in two installments (50 % deposit now, 50 % balance later), please select the appropriate option at checkout. Payment by invoice.

Tip: Please check if your credit card already has one. Travel cancellation insurance This is included – it's included with many providers if you pay for the trip with your card.

Fast, secure and digital. We eliminate unnecessary paperwork and rely on a process as simple as modern online shopping. We follow three clear steps:

Choose a sailing trip: You can select your desired sailing trip directly from our overview. Since our occupancy plans work in real time, you can immediately see whether there are still berths available on your chosen route and secure your spot with a single click.

Choose payment method: In the booking form, you enter your personal details and choose your preferred payment method. You have the option of convenient credit card payment (instant payment of the Total amount) or the classic payment by invoice (50 % down payment). By accepting our terms and conditions, you create the legal basis for our mutual contract.

Book now: By clicking the booking button, you complete your booking and are therefore liable for payment. Your berth is then reserved exclusively for you and blocked from other interested parties. At the same time, our system will automatically send you the booking confirmation and your invoice by email – you can read about the next steps in detail under the section "What happens immediately after booking?".

Transparency and a proactive information culture are our goals. We have implemented targeted digital measures to achieve this. Touchpoints created to accompany you from booking to start – so you are always well informed.

Immediate confirmation: Our system takes over immediately after you click. You'll receive your booking confirmation via email within minutes, giving you written confirmation that your spot is secure.

Crew briefing: You'll receive our crew briefing and crew form just one day after booking. This online questionnaire gathers important participant information, while the briefing prepares you step-by-step for the trip with packing lists and other details.

Networking: We won't leave you on your own until departure. Ten days before the trip begins, you'll receive another email with a link to the WhatsApp group so you can get to know each other and coordinate as a crew beforehand.

Each booking is made individually. This may seem more complicated at first glance, but it has important advantages for you and your safety on board.

Everyone is a crew member: We want every participant to have direct access to all important information. Since our system automatically sends important emails, such as the crew briefing or the link to the WhatsApp group, to the registered email address, each participant must be individually registered.

Legal clarity: A sailing trip is a special journey. It is important that every participant (or, in the case of minors, their legal guardians) personally agrees to the terms and conditions and safety regulations. This ensures clarity for everyone.

Insurance: Many travel or accident insurance policies only apply if the invoice is in the insured person's name. Individual booking ensures that everyone automatically receives their correct invoice.

Yes. To guarantee your place on board, we need planning certainty. The process differs depending on the payment method chosen:

Payment by credit card (full payment): With this method, the Total amount (100 %) Payment is due immediately upon booking. This is the fastest way to finalize your booking – you won't need to worry about any further payment deadlines or manual transfers afterwards.

Payment by invoice (down payment & final payment): Here the Total amount Payment is due in two installments. Upon receipt of the invoice, a deposit of 50 (%) is due within 14 days. Please pay the remaining 50 (%) no later than 4 weeks (28 days) before the start of your trip without further notice.

Why is payment due in advance? Once you make your booking, your berth is reserved exclusively for you and cannot be booked by anyone else. Early payment secures the booking, covers fixed costs, and allows for the timely organization of all necessary resources and logistical preparations.

Yes, of course. We place great importance on proper documentation so that you have a legally sound and clear receipt for your booking.

Automated shipping: Our system will activate immediately after you complete your booking. You will receive your official invoice as a PDF attachment along with your booking confirmation directly to the email address you provided. This way, you have all the necessary documents readily available for your records or accounting.

Maximum transparency: Your invoice contains a detailed breakdown of the services you booked, as well as the total amount due, including VAT. We ensure that all details are clearly and comprehensibly documented for you.

Payment status & deadlines: The invoice content adapts to your chosen payment method. For credit card payments, the invoice will be shown as fully paid. If you have opted for bank transfer, we will explicitly list the specific payment deadlines for your deposit (50 %) and the subsequent final payment (50 %) so that you have all deadlines at a glance.

Yes. Cancellation is possible at any time before the start of your trip. However, since we plan sailing trips well in advance and reserve berths specifically for you, your booking is binding. There is no statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for time-bound leisure services.

To ensure you know exactly where you stand, we have structured our cancellation policies transparently.

Here's how it works: The cancellation must be submitted in writing (e.g., by email). The fee is calculated based on the date your message is received by us.

The fee structure: The sooner you inform us, the lower the flat fee:

  • Until 90th day Before the start of the trip: 25% of the travel price.

  • From the Days 89 to 31 Before the start of the trip: 50% of the travel price.

  • From the Day 30 to 15 Before the start of the trip: 75% of the travel price.

  • From the Days 14 to 7 Before the start of the trip: 90% of the travel price.

  • From the Day 6 or in case of no-show: 95% of the travel price.

The alternative (substitute participant): Do you know someone who would like to take your place? That's often the best solution! You can name a suitable replacement who will take over your contract up to 7 days before the start of your trip.

No. We prioritize maximum transparency and have abolished the outdated concept of a "kite fund". This means for you: no hidden costs and no handling of cash on board.

Everything included: Your booking price already covers all foreseeable costs. This includes all meals on board, all port fees, diesel consumption, and final cleaning. We believe this is simply part of a professional sailing trip.

No additional payments required: Unlike many charter trips, you don't have to contribute to a common fund on site or deal with complicated accounting at the end. This gives you complete planning security for your holiday budget.

Your extras: You are only responsible for your own individual arrival and departure, travel insurance and private expenses (e.g. if we go out to eat together in a restaurant in the evening).

We strongly urge you to do this. Nobody plans to get sick or have an emergency – but life sometimes throws curveballs and we want to save you unnecessary trouble.

Cost protection: Since we have to charge cancellation fees for short-notice cancellations (to cover our losses), the insurance reliably protects you from being stuck with these costs.

Small contribution: Such insurance usually costs only a fraction of the trip price. It's a small investment that can save you a lot of money in an emergency.

Peace of mind: With the right protection in place, you can book your sailing trip with peace of mind and well in advance. This way, you secure your place on board early and can enjoy the anticipation without worrying about "what ifs".

Absolutely. We know that planning a vacation simply takes a little more time – whether it's coordinating with your employer, family, or finding suitable flights. That's why we want to take the pressure off: We're happy to offer to reserve a cabin exclusively for you while you finalize your travel plans in peace and quiet.

10-day reservationTo reserve your berth, use the "10-Day Reservation" button, which you'll find directly on your chosen sailing trip page. This will start a free and non-binding reservation process. We'll hold this space for you in the booking system so that no one can take it away during this period, allowing you to plan completely risk-free.

Exclusive & Non-bindingThe reservation is valid for exactly 10 days from the moment of activation. During this period, your cabin is exclusively reserved for you, allowing you to relax and organize the final details with peace of mind, while we take care of everything else.

Your bookingOnce your plans are finalized, you can easily book your berth as usual via the "Book Now" button on our website. Please understand, however, that if no binding booking is made within 10 days, the berth will automatically be released to other interested parties. Furthermore, should your berth be the very last available one on board and another guest has already made a binding booking request, we would need you to make an immediate decision to ensure fairness for everyone.

Yes, absolutely. Since travel plans can sometimes change at short notice and berths become available again due to cancellations, we offer you the chance to quickly occupy such a vacant berth via our waiting list.

Check availability: Our trip descriptions show you in real time how many berths are currently available. This gives you full control and transparency over the occupancy of your preferred period before you start planning.

Non-binding registration: Once a sailing trip is fully booked, the booking button automatically changes to a link to the waiting list. This link will take you to a form where you can register. Non-binding You can register for vacant berths.

Exclusive notification: If a berth becomes available due to a cancellation, we will immediately inform everyone on the waiting list by email. You will receive this information. exclusive before everyone else, giving you the crucial time advantage to secure your place on board at short notice.

Arrival & Departure

Transparency is important to us: We do everything we can to ensure your trip takes place, but we honestly distinguish between our commitment and the forces of nature at sea.

Honesty instead of false promises: A blanket "100% guarantee" would be irresponsible in offshore sailing. We are subject to higher powers such as the weather. If, for example, a storm is approaching, we have to wait it out – safety always takes precedence over schedule.

Force majeure & weather buffer: In extreme exceptional circumstances (e.g., severe weather), we reserve the right to change the itinerary or cancel the contract. As weather-related delays may also occur, please plan your return flight for no earlier than the check-out day (preferably one day later) to allow for a buffer.

High reliability of implementation: From a financial perspective, there are almost no obstacles to the trip. We've reduced the minimum number of participants to just two, making it extremely customer-friendly. Since we almost exclusively sail one-way routes, the yacht has to arrive at the destination port anyway. So far, we've never had to cancel a trip due to a lack of participants.

Yes, but we have set this hurdle extremely low to give you maximum planning security.

Minimum number of participantsTo ensure the trip is financially viable, our minimum number of participants is only two. This is the absolute minimum of manpower required to safely operate the yacht using a watch system. The trip will take place as soon as this number is reached.

Don't worry about gaps: Don't be concerned if there are still places available in the booking calendar. In our experience, many of our participants book at short notice.

High security: Since we sail one-way routes, we have a "natural interest" in reaching the destination port – the yacht needs to arrive there to be ready for the next leg. So far, we have never had to cancel a trip due to insufficient participants.

We know that logistics is an important part of your holiday planning. That's why we don't leave the choice of ports to chance.

Deliberate choice of location: Our sailing trips start and end in ports that we have deliberately chosen for their excellent infrastructure. They either have direct airports or are quick and easy to reach.

Travel without stress: Even with our one-way routes, we make sure that arrival and departure are generally possible without a mandatory overnight stay – even if the destination sounds distant and exotic.

Personal consultation: Are you unsure which flight connection is best? Feel free to contact us. We know the routes inside and out and can advise you personally on your arrival and departure options.

We have chosen these times so that your journey remains stress-free, but the onboard process can start professionally and on time.

Check-in (at 2:00 PM): We kindly ask you to plan your arrival so that you are at the jetty promptly at 2:00 PM. This is the official start time for the get-together and safety briefing. As this is mandatory for everyone, we can only begin once the entire crew is present. Please note: Early check-in or leaving luggage is not possible, as the skippers use the time beforehand intensively for technical checks and provisioning.

Check-out (until 10:00 am): On departure day, we'll wind down the trip in a relaxed atmosphere. We usually have breakfast together on board before it's time to "clean up" and say our goodbyes by 10:00 a.m. This way, you won't have any stress about catching your flight home.

Punctuality: Please treat the check-in time like a boarding time at the airport. Punctuality is a matter of fairness to the entire crew: as we start directly with the mandatory safety briefing, any delay will disrupt the schedule for everyone. Please plan your journey with some extra time.

We deliberately included these days as an integral part of the trip, even though we don't usually sail on them. They serve to ensure a safe arrival and a common Diploma.

The first day (Check-In & Safety): Punctuality at 2:00 PM is crucial here. We use the afternoon intensively for onboarding: stowing provisions, settling into our bunks, and, most importantly, for the comprehensive safety briefing. This briefing is mandatory for everyone and forms the foundation for the coming days at sea. Afterwards, we often head to our first dinner together – the moment when individuals become a crew.

Why we're not setting sail immediately: An offshore voyage requires preparation. We deliberately take the time to ensure everyone understands the vessel and the safety equipment before casting off. This relieves the pressure and creates a positive feeling from the very first nautical mile.

The last day (check-out & debriefing): On departure day, we'll wind down the trip at a relaxed pace. After a final breakfast, we'll use the time for a joint debriefing and tidying up before saying our goodbyes by 10:00 a.m. This way, you won't be stressed about time for your onward journey.

No. We kindly ask you to align your arrival precisely with the specified check-in time.

No early boarding: We understand your motivation, but we strictly do not allow any crew on board before the specified time. The skippers use the hours beforehand intensively for shopping, technical checks, and organization to prepare the yacht in the best possible way for you.

Baggage: Since the crew cannot yet be received, please understand that no luggage can be left on board in advance. Thank you for your understanding.

Waiting time: Should you arrive early, please feel free to spend some time relaxing in a nearby café. Please allow us time to complete our shopping and preparations so we can welcome you on board promptly and with our full attention.

Fitness & Requirements

There's no strict upper limit, as fitness is often more important than the number on your ID. However, we have an important request to ensure your safety and that of the crew:

>70 years: Please contact us personally before booking. We would like to briefly discuss with you whether the planned trip is suitable for you.

Experience: We need to be completely honest here. Experience on board shows that participants over 70 often find it more difficult to move safely on deck in heavy seas, which can lead to avoidable injuries. Please don't underestimate the physical demands of offshore sailing.

Advice: Ultimately, it's important to us that the trip remains a positive experience for you and not a negative one. Overload We will give you completely honest advice on the right route – so that you are safe and can fully enjoy your holiday.

No. All skill levels are welcome. We welcome both sailing novices, who are easily integrated, and very experienced sailors.

Attitude: Your attitude is more important than a certificate. Longer non-stop legs in strong winds can be physically demanding – the will and the desire for active sailing are more crucial here than qualifications.

Team spirit: You're not on your own. Even without offshore experience, we'll integrate you into the security system so you feel safe. We'll cover any knowledge gaps within the team, and you'll learn naturally on the job.

Nautical miles: You'll also gain valuable experience along the way. As we are an official organizer, we will issue you a recognized mileage certificate at the end – an important building block for your own sailing career.

No. No special prior knowledge is required to participate in our sailing trips.

Our concept: We want to experience adventures on the high seas with amateurs. Under the expert guidance of experienced skippers, you will certainly get to experience offshore sailing, even without prior knowledge.

On-the-job training: To make this possible and for everyone's safety, the crew receives constant training and is prepared as thoroughly as possible for any potential challenges. Every time we go offshore sailing, we hopefully learn something new.

Attitude matters: Your own motivation and contribution to the success of the sailing trip are far more important than any sailing experience. What matters is your willingness to integrate into the crew and pitch in.

A solid level of fitness is an absolute requirement. In offshore sailing, every crew member shares responsibility for the success and safety of the entire crew.

Physical exertion: You should be able to contribute to a reasonable extent. This includes very specific tasks such as stowing sails, operating winches, and steering with concentration – even over longer distances. It is also important that you can move safely on deck and below deck in rough seas so that you can carry out your daily routines independently.

Mental strength & attitude: Multi-day offshore passages are intense. How challenging they actually become often has more to do with a healthy attitude and expectations than with age alone. We provide the necessary framework through constant safety training, good nutrition, and sufficient sleep, but poor physical condition can become a burden for the entire team at sea.

Health & Medicines: If you require medication or have any pre-existing medical conditions, you must inform the skipper. This is for your own safety, so we can react appropriately in an emergency.

Always. Experience has shown that a fixed schedule is absolutely essential for journeys lasting approximately 6 hours or more.

Sleep management: The watch system not only regulates who steers when, but above all guarantees rest periods. On multi-day passages, regular sleep is key to safety and good spirits.

Clear roles: Besides steering, the system also regulates the social processes on board – such as who cooks or who does the washing up (see „Who cooks on board?“).

Teamwork: The rotation system helps the team bond. Everyone takes responsibility for the ship while the others sleep.

To be honest, this is probably the question we get asked most often – and rightly so. Seasickness is as much a part of almost every offshore sailing trip as wind and waves. It's a bit of a curse for sailors, but we don't want to sugarcoat anything; we just want to share our experience:

Honesty on board: Even experienced sailors sometimes get seasick after many years at sea. It simply doesn't go away and is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. It might not sound particularly encouraging at first, but you're in good company on board. Nobody needs to hide it.

The right attitude: Since seasickness is an unavoidable part of the experience, we have to find a way to deal with it. Those who tense up and fight against it often make things harder for themselves. Our experience shows that those who actively confront seasickness and accept it as part of the experience settle into daily life on board much more quickly. There are always exceptions, but we have rarely seen someone who can't overcome it.

Medications can help: Aids are welcome. We know almost no experienced offshore sailor who doesn't occasionally use travel sickness tablets. It's easily manageable. We've had crew members who, before crossing to the Azores, seemed to have bought out an entire pharmacy – and ended up having a fantastic time. So, good travel sickness tablets definitely belong in your luggage.

In conclusion: Seasickness is part of the experience, but it's easily manageable. Don't let it discourage you. After a short time, your body usually gets used to the movement, you'll develop "sea legs," and you can enjoy your vacation surprisingly well.

Don't worry, this can happen to even the most experienced sailors. It's absolutely nothing to be ashamed of and usually passes quickly.

Open communication: It's important that you address it early and don't try to hide it. Our skipper team knows many tricks to help you (e.g., steering, keeping your eyes on the horizon). If we know about it, we can relieve you before you get unwell.

Habituation: Usually, the body and sense of balance only need 1-2 days to get used to the yacht's movements ("to get sea legs"). After that, almost all participants fully enjoy the trip and cooking below deck again.

Preparation: If you know you're sensitive or are trying it for the first time, get advice from a pharmacist about suitable remedies (chewing gum, tablets) and bring them with you. Good preparation will also give you peace of mind.

These three categories give you a clear indication of how sporty and challenging the sailing trip is designed to be.

Coastal (shore excursions): We sail mostly shorter daily legs along the coast or between islands and spend almost every night in a sheltered harbor or at anchor. Particularly rough seas are rare here, as we can seek shelter at any time. Mobile phone: You will probably have continuous reception.

Offshore (guard system): Here you'll encounter greater distances, open stretches of coastline, and night sailing. Life on board often follows a watch system (active sailing vs. resting), which can be quite physically demanding. We frequently lose sight of land. Mobile phone: Reception is sometimes limited or unavailable.

Ocean (blue water): Off to new shores! We have several days of non-stop sailing ahead of us. Land is nowhere in sight. We live by the strict rhythm of the watch system and experience pure offshore sailing in the endless expanse. Mobile phone: The perfect „digital detox“ – there is no network here, the phone stays off.

Crew & Togetherness

Yes, absolutely. This is extremely important to us. Because only those who can train others themselves have the necessary calm and methodological competence to lead a crew safely and to convey knowledge clearly – completely without stress.

Expertise: We rely on professionals who know our challenging sea areas intimately. They possess immense experience in tidal waters and always make sound, safe decisions.

Professionalism: We see ourselves as your service providers on board. Our skippers don't take a vacation; they are focused on the ship and crew – attentive, present, and reliable.

Mentoring: Thanks to their instructor background, our skippers don't act as commanders, but as trainers on equal footing. We actively involve you in sailing the ship, support your development, and patiently pass on our knowledge.

Absolutely. For us, good seamanship means not only technical perfection, but also strong social skills. We know that the atmosphere on board is just as crucial to safety as the wind, and we don't leave it to chance.

Personality: Our skippers are selected not only for their nautical skills, but above all for their empathy and leadership qualities. They are hosts and team players, not lone wolves.

Communication: We rely on open briefings and clear structures. Challenges are not ignored, but addressed and moderated before they become problems.

Community: Through cooking together, the watch system, and the experiences at sea, the group bonds extremely quickly. Friendships often develop on board that last for years.

We place great importance on mindful crew management and respectful interaction. Our principle is: volume is no substitute for competence.

Peace and quiet instead of hectic activity: You won't hear any shouting on board. If things get loud, it's usually because something went wrong with the planning beforehand. We don't like stressful maneuvers and act so proactively that critical situations ideally don't arise in the first place.

Professional communication: Especially in windy or bad weather, we often communicate more effectively with pre-arranged hand signals between the cockpit and bow than by shouting. This brings calm to the boat and ensures precise procedures.

On equal terms: We have a flat hierarchy. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to ask questions. Mistakes are discussed so we can learn from them, but without embarrassing anyone. Our goal is to arrive safely together and have a good time.

We handle that flexibly. We are open-minded sailors and adapt to the crew in a very uncomplicated way.

German: Our yacht sails under the German flag and our skippers are native German speakers. Therefore, with purely German-speaking crews, the main language on board is naturally German.

English: We speak fluent English. As soon as international guests are on board, we naturally switch to English for all briefings and communication. Welcome aboard!

Sailor's Latin: Don't worry, we won't bombard you with incomprehensible technical terms. We explain nautical vocabulary in a way that you'll understand immediately and feel confident – without any question marks in your head.

That's difficult to answer in general terms. However, what we're very pleased about is that, compared to other providers, our crews are often somewhat younger and, above all, very well mixed – both in terms of age and gender.

We usually observe two groups that are particularly strongly represented:

Young Professionals (approx. 25–35 years):This group is very frequently on board. They are mostly young professionals who consciously use their vacation time to escape work and the hustle and bustle of everyday life and to challenge themselves physically.

Active Agers (approx. 50–65 years): After a kind of "family gap" in middle age, we are seeing this group more strongly represented again. Here we often encounter participants on sabbatical or those who are able to take a step back professionally and want to spend their time actively at sea.

Our conclusion: We are very pleased with this healthy mix. Our experience repeatedly shows that age on board is just a number, and that mixed groups often form the most stable and successful teams.

We usually sail with a maximum of 8 participants. This size has proven effective in ensuring both a sportingly efficient and socially harmonious sailing experience.

Team size: With a maximum of 10 people on board, the group is large enough to perform all maneuvers powerfully, but small enough to grow together as a close-knit community.

Relaxed watch schedule: The larger the crew, the more pleasantly the tasks are distributed. With a full crew, we can organize the watch system so that everyone gets enough sleep and the "off-duty" periods can truly be used for rest.

Skipper team: Our offshore sailing trips are always led by two professional skippers (skipper and co-skipper). This ensures maximum safety, as a well-rested professional is always available, and allows us to provide more intensive support to the crew.

Even though the ages vary, the crew often presents a very homogeneous picture. What unites the group is not their background, but their attitude.

Motivation: Most participants share the desire to take the next step. They are often experienced charter sailors who now want to experience a real offshore passage.

Adventure: Sailing on a watch system, night passages, or approaching unfamiliar ports in the dark are almost always new and exciting experiences for the crew. Everyone on board will find an opportunity to step outside their sailing comfort zone – that's bound to happen.

Team spirit: It is precisely this shared challenge that forges a strong bond. You may arrive on board alone, but you will quickly become part of a close-knit team that works together to bring the yacht to its destination.

Our crews are a diverse mix, but one group stands out: the solo travelers.

Solo travelers (approx. 80%): Most of our participants register alone. So you'll be in good company if you don't bring anyone along. This ensures that the group mixes quickly and no one feels left out.

The crew: With up to 8 people, we have a well-balanced crew size. Age and gender are often very mixed, which we consider a great asset.

Couples: Couples are also welcome. What's important to us is that they integrate into the dynamic crew (the "One Crew" spirit) and don't isolate themselves. Our shared attitude and sporting goals unite us all.

There will be no physical meeting beforehand, but we will connect you digitally in good time.

WhatsApp group: A while before the trip starts, we'll create a WhatsApp group for the crew. This is a great opportunity to get to know each other, arrange carpools, or ask any questions. You'll receive the link by email.

No preliminary meeting: We have been organizing these trips professionally for years, and experience shows that a virtual "Zoom meeting" beforehand is unnecessary. The best way to get to know each other is over the first dinner together on the jetty.

Community: Since many participants travel solo, there is a great deal of openness. Friendships often develop on board, and people immediately make plans for the next trip the following year.

We don't have passengers – you're an active crew member from the very first moment. The organization of daily life on board usually runs quite naturally through our watch system.

The guard system: We divide the crew into fixed teams and shifts. During your watch, the tasks rotate: you'll alternate between being helmsman, navigator, or deckhand, and sometimes watch leader. When your watch is over, the other team often takes care of cooking or galley duty.

On equal terms: We assign each person according to their prior experience, but above all, according to their wishes. We won't hold you back! Do you want to steer a harbor maneuver yourself or delve deeper into navigation? Let us know – we'll support you in achieving your sailing goals.

Safety & Responsibility: Everyone is fully integrated into the procedures. This includes a detailed allocation of so-called "emergency roles" (e.g., task distribution in case of fire or man overboard), which we practice together during the safety briefing.

You're with us to experience active offshore sailing, not to be a passenger. That's why our most important task is to support you in exactly that – in an environment where you feel safe and valued.

On equal terms: It's important to us that you feel comfortable on board at all times. We maintain a modern management style without loud commands. We guide you calmly so that you know exactly what to do and feel like a fully-fledged, important part of the crew.

Real responsibility: Our goal is for you to function as a team. Often, the skipper hardly touches the wheel afterward because you're so well coordinated. It's a great feeling when you realize at the end: "We sailed this yacht"—and we simply provided the safe framework in the background.

Your success: Our skippers see themselves as „Enabler“. This means: We don't take the reins from you, but give you the knowledge and peace of mind so that you You can steer and safely control the yacht yourself.

Clothing & Equipment

Please don't! Space is precious on a performance yacht – there's simply no room for hard luggage.

No-go: Hard-shell suitcases pose a real safety risk on board. They cannot be wedged into anything, slide dangerously across the saloon in rough seas, and block escape routes. We therefore cannot accept them on board under any circumstances.

Minimalism: For shore excursions, a single outfit is usually all you need. Since you'll be wearing almost exclusively functional clothing at sea, you'll need significantly less luggage than you might think. It's best to strictly follow our packing list.

Recommendation: Please be sure to use a soft duffle bag. Since the lockers are reserved for equipment and tools, we'll be living out of the bag. You can easily stow it securely under, next to, or even on top of your height-adjustable berth while sailing.

Most importantly: Pack in layers and never underestimate the cold at sea. We've summarized our experience here, which you should take into account carefully:

➼ Temperatures 10°C colder: Due to the wind chill on deck, the perceived temperature is significantly lower than the weather forecast predicts on land. Simply pack as if you expect temperatures 10°C colder.

➼ Uncompromising offshore clothing: A completely windproof and waterproof combination of jacket, trousers and boots is essential. Splashing water on deck is guaranteed, and even without rain, the boat will sail "wet".

➼ Hat & Gloves: Even in summer, a hat should be packed, as your ears can get cold quickly at night or in the wind. Sailing gloves are also highly recommended for working with ropes to protect your hands.

Our detailed Packing List provides you with many other helpful resources.

On deck, sure footing and functionality are key. For your safety and comfort, we recommend non-slip, closed-toe, and quick-drying deck shoes.

Security: Your shoes must have light-colored soles, fit snugly, and protect your toes from injury by deck fittings. Walking barefoot is absolutely forbidden during maneuvers.

Dryness: Do yourself a favor and leave your street sneakers in the closet. They'll soak up water with the first wave and never dry out at sea – wet, cold feet are a real morale killer. For bad weather or rough seas, functional sea boots are therefore essential.

Cult factor: Yes, we are completely serious: Crocs (In "sport mode" with heel straps) they are a well-kept secret among sailors. They are closed, extremely slip-resistant, water runs off immediately, and they dry in minutes. They are also very comfortable and lightweight. Because of this ingenious feature, they enjoy a true cult status on board our boat.

Yes, of course! You don't need to bring your own safety equipment. We place extremely high value on safety and make no compromises in this regard. We deliberately use high-end professional equipment because high-quality life jackets are not only safer but also significantly more comfortable – so they won't get in your way while you're working on deck.

Automatic: Our life jackets meet the highest offshore standards and inflate automatically upon contact with water. During the safety briefing, we'll show you exactly how to put them on and adjust them perfectly for your needs.

Lifebelt: The safety harness is integrated directly. This allows you to securely attach yourself to the yacht ("clip in") in rough seas or at night, preventing you from falling overboard in the first place.

High-tech: As a special bonus, each vest carries a personal location beacon (PLB). In an emergency, this transmits your exact position directly to the crew – a safety standard we wouldn't dream of forgoing.

Naturally. We want you to start relaxed and without worrying about forgetting anything important. That's why we've created a tried-and-tested list for you.

Clarity: Our checklist is specifically tailored to offshore sailing – it includes everything from the right clothing layers to the necessary documents.

Equipment: A full set of safety equipment, including a life jacket, is already on board. So you only need to take care of your personal comfort gear.

Security: Simply go through the list point by point. This way you can be sure you've thought of everything and fully concentrate on the anticipation.

Sailing yacht & equipment

We are sailing on a JV53 One-Off – an exclusive custom-built yacht that noticeably stands out from conventional production yachts. The crucial difference for you: This yacht offers the perfect compromise between performance and cruising comfort – built to sail offshore safely, quickly, and comfortably.

Performance: Thanks to its high-quality construction and carbon rig, the yacht sails significantly faster and more stably than typical charter boats. This provides maximum sailing enjoyment and greatly increases safety on long voyages.

Comfort: We offer you true relaxation instead of cramped double cabins. You sleep in your own adjustable single berth – the best way to sleep soundly and safely, even in rough seas and when the ship is heeling.

Concept: Everything works perfectly here when it matters. Whether it's the seaworthy galley for cooking in waves or the large navigation area for training – the layout is uncompromisingly geared towards active life at sea.

Our yacht is equipped with a total of 10 berths, specially designed for deep sleep on the high seas.

Single berths: Instead of shared double cabins, you have your own private space. We use 8 pipe berths and 2 fixed pilot berths. This guarantees you a dedicated retreat and often more privacy than on traditional charter yachts.

Heeling: This is where the yacht's strength shines. The berths are adjustable via a pulley system. You precisely adjust the angle to the heel and lie securely and straight, like in a hammock – no matter how much the boat is sailing at an angle.

Equipment: You don't need a sleeping bag. Each bunk is fully equipped for you – with a high-quality mattress, extra-warm blanket, and pillow. Just get in and have sweet dreams.

No. We are sailing on a performance yacht where the design consistently follows function. This means:

Open design: Below deck, the yacht is divided into various functional areas, but there are no enclosed sleeping cabins. In fact, the bathroom door is the only door on board.

Single bunk instead of double bed: This may sound unusual at first, but it has significant advantages. We find that our individual berths at sea offer considerably more privacy and peace than supposedly comfortable double cabins.

Sleeping comfort depending on location: In a double cabin, you often share a cramped bed and roll around on top of each other in rough seas. In your own bunk, on the other hand, you have your own fixed, safe space (with a lee sail) where you can sleep undisturbed.

Our performance yacht doesn't have classic, enclosed double cabins. However, we have a proven solution that makes couples feel very comfortable on board.

Your area: We prefer to group couples together in the aft cabin. There you'll find single berths that form their own separate area. So you won't be sleeping in the same bed, but in close proximity to each other and somewhat separated from the rest of the crew in the forward cabin or saloon.

Sleep better: The feedback from couples is almost always positive: Everyone has their own quiet bunk (without rolling over each other when lying down), but you still share a common retreat.

Tip: Simply state your preference when booking so that we can plan the berth allocation accordingly.

Yes, anytime. We ensure that your devices remain ready for use.

In the port (230V): When we are moored at the dock, we have several 230V household outlets available. This allows for fast charging, just like at home.

Offshore (12V): When sailing, we use the 12V electrical system (USB sockets).

Sustainable energy: Our yacht is equipped with a powerful hydrogenerator. This uses the movement through the water to provide us with a continuous and environmentally friendly power supply while sailing. Charging is therefore possible at any time.

Yes and no. We are well connected, but at sea it's a "digital detox".

Near the coast: The yacht is equipped with a Wi-Fi router. We receive mobile internet access via a SIM card in almost all European countries, which the crew can log into.

At sea: The signal disappears as soon as we leave the coast (offshore/ocean). The range varies depending on the country. We deliberately use this time to switch off.

Satellite: We have a satellite receiver on board. However, this is reserved exclusively for receiving weather data and for emergency communication, not for internet browsing.

Yes. There is a bathroom with a shower on board. However, we handle the issue pragmatically and with resource conservation in mind.

Function over luxury: Our yacht is designed for sporty offshore sailing, but still offers the necessary comfort for personal hygiene. When we are in ports, we prefer to use the sanitary facilities there, as these are usually more spacious.

On the way: In remote areas or when at anchor, we can of course easily use the shower on board.

Save water: Since we can't produce an unlimited supply of fresh water, showering on board is always linked to our trip planning and the distances involved. Our experience shows that with a little consideration, it works wonderfully for everyone.

We steer manually – and we do so with conviction! You won't find an autopilot here.

Performance: Our yacht sails fast – and it sails even more reliably and faster when actively steered. The feeling at the helm is direct and simply fun.

Security: We often travel in busy maritime areas. Manual steering keeps us alert and attentive.

Routine: Especially on long night voyages, steering is an important activity. It is an integral part of every watch and helps to maintain the rhythm, instead of just passively "standing watch".

Your safety is our top priority. Because we are often at sea beyond the reach of any medical care and helicopters, we prepare meticulously and consciously do more than the law requires.

Education: Our skippers are experienced first responders who regularly refresh their training. In addition, we are intensively involved in emergency management to ensure we can act calmly and systematically on board.

Equipment: We carry an expanded medical kit on board that goes significantly beyond the usual standard. We regularly consult with medical professionals to ensure the equipment is appropriately tailored to realistic scenarios on board.

Support: Our satellite phone gives us 24/7 access to telemedicine consultations worldwide. This ensures that in an emergency, we receive immediate instructions from specialists who can support us in taking the right steps until help arrives.

Catering & Etiquette

For us, good food is much more than just sustenance. We make every effort to provide you with healthy and delicious meals every day – because we know from experience: a good hot meal is often the crucial morale booster at sea.

Diversity: We conjure up as much freshness as possible from the available supplies. Our goal is a balanced diet that not only fills you up but also tastes great. Even though storage on board is a logistical challenge, we avoid monotonous ready-made meals and focus on quality.

Sea state: The kitchen adapts to the weather. When the boat is heeled heavily and the waves are high, cooking becomes a balancing act. Nutritious one-pot meals, which can be safely eaten from a single bowl and are easy on the stomach even when moving around, prove their worth in these conditions.

Wishes: To ensure we cater to your tastes despite these conditions, we ask about your preferences and any intolerances in advance using the crew form. This way, we can guarantee that there's something delicious and suitable for everyone in the pot.

You don't need to worry about a thing – the provisions will already be stowed away upon your arrival. We know from experience that good food is good for morale and crucial for a high-performing crew.

Service: The skipper will take care of the grocery shopping and stowing before your arrival. This saves you the stress of the supermarket and lugging crates on the first day. We can start our trip relaxed and ready to go.

Quality: Forget canned food. Our menu focuses on fresh and healthy food that actually tastes good. Often, cooking and eating together below deck is the social highlight of the day.

Preferences: Your needs are important to us. In the crew form, we specifically ask about food intolerances or vegetarian preferences. We plan our shopping accordingly, ensuring there's something suitable for everyone.

Of course. Good food is crucial for morale on board. That's why we take your lifestyle and health into account.

Query: Transparency from day one. Using our digital crew form, we automatically ask about preferences such as vegetarian/vegan or food intolerances directly after booking.

Planning: We plan the provisions together. This way we ensure that all needs are taken into account when shopping and that no one is missing anything.

Enjoyment: No one should have to eat only side dishes. We make sure that we cook fresh, delicious and varied meals together – so that everyone leaves full and happy.

We're organizing the baking as a team. The good news is: we've already done the stressful grocery shopping for you.

Backstay: When you come aboard, the ship will already be fully provisioned. Our skippers have organized the shopping and prepared a meal in advance. Meal plan created, which is precisely tailored to the wishes and intolerances (e.g. vegetarian) that you have informed us of in advance.

The system: The crew then does the cooking themselves. The watch system dictates the rhythm of the galley. At sea, there is usually a lunch and a hot dinner. These meals are prepared by the current off-watch crew so that the active watch can concentrate fully on sailing.

Fairness: To ensure a fair distribution of tasks, our rule is: whoever cooks doesn't have to do the dishes. The watch that's just been vacated often takes over the washing up. In rough seas offshore, this is often just as demanding as the cooking itself and ensures a harmonious atmosphere on board.

No. There is a very clear rule here, which serves the safety of everyone on board. However, we differentiate between whether we are sailing offshore or are in port.

Strict „Dry Boat Policy“: As long as the yacht is underway (sailing or motoring), our blood alcohol limit is 0.0. Safety, concentration, and reaction time are paramount at sea.

After putting it on: Once we've moored, the mood changes. A cold beer after a successful passage or a hot grog to warm up is welcome on board.

Self-sufficiency: Please remember that you are responsible for providing your own alcoholic beverages. We will organize the catering on board, but you should purchase your own sundowner according to your preferences.

No. Safety, and especially fire protection, is of paramount importance to us on board.

Strict smoking ban: Many flammable materials and several kilograms of liquefied gas are stored on board – the situation is comparable to a gas station. Therefore, smoking is strictly prohibited both below and on deck.

Etiquette: We live in close quarters. Out of consideration for non-smokers and for the well-being of everyone on board, we would like to emphasize this rule.

Exception: E-cigarettes: Modern vapes and e-cigarettes are not subject to this ban and may be used on deck as long as etiquette is observed.

Nautical miles & confirmations

Yes, absolutely. Our sailing trips are ideally suited to logging many nautical miles and gaining experience in a relatively short time.

Effective miles: We travel on fast yachts, and our one-way routes offer the challenge of covering as much distance as possible. This guarantees you a high mileage yield.

Recognition: Almost every sailing trip includes sailors who are collecting sea miles for certificates such as the British Yachtmaster, the Swiss Offshore Certificate, or the German SSS/SHS. At the end, you will of course receive an official confirmation of your mileage from us.

This varies greatly depending on the nature of the route (coastal, offshore, ocean). Since we want to use our one-way routes for sport, night sailing and longer legs are an integral part of the program.

Coastal (shore leave): Here we mostly sail during the day, but often make deliberate stops. a night journey This helps us to efficiently cover greater distances or to utilize time windows that are often dictated by the tides. The advantage: We cover ground "while we sleep" and have more time for shore excursions the next day.

Offshore (guard system): These trips cover greater distances. We sail frequently. 2 to 3 days Non-stop, often to cross open ocean sections or change countries. Here you can already fully benefit from the watch system.

Ocean (blue water): Here, non-stop sailing makes up the main part of the trip. We are usually approximately 7 days (or longer) continuously at sea. During this time there are no shore excursions, only the routine on board, the crew and the horizon.

It's a combination of both – we call it "training on the job" under real offshore conditions.

Instructor approach: Our concept is based on our skippers acting like instructors in many situations. They actively support the crew but don't slow down the flow of the trip with constant blocks of theory.

Safety training: Each voyage is preceded by an intensive training day (including man-overboard maneuvers) in which the entire crew is instructed in emergency procedures.

Active learning: You learn by doing. Since each crew member sails as actively as they want to contribute, you can gain a massive amount of experience in navigation, meteorology, and seamanship.

Yes, absolutely. We know how important accurate proof of miles is to you. Many of our guests come from Switzerland, so we are familiar with the requirements of the CCS and the SYA We are completely trusted. We guarantee you a 100% smooth transaction.

Recognition: Our skippers handle the licenses professionally and hold valid licenses that are fully recognized by the Swiss examination boards (CCS & SYA). Therefore, there will be no unpleasant surprises when submitting your application.

Efficiency: To obtain the Swiss sailing license, you need "active participation in navigation and ship handling." Because we sail competitively and actively involve you, you'll gain this experience (and the necessary miles) with us much faster and more thoroughly than on traditional holiday cruises.

Evidence: Transparency is important to us. We will fill out your personal trip logbook together on board, sign it, and stamp it with the ship's seal. You will disembark with a fully verified document.

Definitely. Our sailing trips are the ideal training ground for aspiring Yachtmasters. We don't just sail from bay to bay, but also complete real offshore passages.

Passages: Our routes typically include legs that are significantly longer than 60 nautical miles. This is the perfect opportunity to meet your required requirements. 5x >60nm Qualifying Passages to check off in the logbook.

Night journeys:We sail multi-day, non-stop legs using a watch system. This means you'll accumulate valuable hours of night sailing and tidal navigation, which are essential for certification.

Training: If you're preparing for an exam, we'll provide targeted support. You can take on the role of a... Skipper Trainee Take on the role: Under supervision, you will be responsible for trip planning and ship handling – the ideal dress rehearsal for your practical exam.
