cancellation

… in case of plan changes.

Fair, transparent and clearly regulated

Sometimes life gets in the way and plans change. While we would be very sorry not to welcome you on board, we want to make the cancellation process as transparent as possible for you. Here you will find all the information about deadlines, fees, and your alternatives.

1. How to cancel a trip

Should you be unable to begin your trip, cancellation is possible at any time before departure. Start of the journey Possible. For the cancellation to be effective, we need a Explanation in text form. A simple email to us is all it takes. The decisive factor for calculating the fees is the time at which we receive your email.

2. Cancellation fees (tiered)

Since we plan sailing trips well in advance and reserve berths specifically for you, cancellations result in losses for us, which we charge a flat fee. The earlier you inform us, the lower the fee.

The compensation is calculated as a percentage of the travel price:

– bis 90 days before the start of the trip: 25%

– 89 to 31 days before the start of the trip: 50%

– 30 to 15 days before the start of the trip: 75%

– 14 to 7 days before the start of the trip: 90%

– ab 6 days before the start of the trip (no-show): 95%

A notice: Should you be able to prove that we have incurred no damage or significantly less damage than the aforementioned flat fee, the fee will of course be reduced accordingly.

đź’ˇ Our TIP: Travel stress-free with insurance

Nobody plans to get sick or have an emergency – but unfortunately, it does happen. Since we have to charge the cancellation fees mentioned above for short-notice cancellations, we recommend that you We strongly recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance..

This usually costs only a small fraction of the trip price, but covers the cancellation fees for you in case of illness (and depending on the policy, also in other emergencies). This way, you won't be stuck with the costs if you have to cancel your trip with a heavy heart.

3. Your alternative: Provide a substitute participant

Unfortunately, you can't attend, but you know someone who would like to take your place? That's often the best solution for everyone!

  • Here's how it works: You can contact us until 7 days before the start of the trip notify that another person is entering into your contract.
  • Requirements: The substitute must be suitable for the trip (in particular fit for travel and sports, and able to swim) and there must be no legal regulations that preclude participation.
  • Processing: Simply send us an email in good time.
  • 4. Important information regarding the right of withdrawal

Since our sailing trips are leisure activities that take place on a specific date, there is no statutory 14-day right of withdrawal (pursuant to Section 312g Paragraph 2 No. 9 of the German Civil Code).

What does that mean for you? Unlike online shopping (e.g., when buying clothes), your booking with us directly binding. You cannot "cancel" your booking within two weeks; instead, in the event of a cancellation on your part, the cancellation conditions mentioned above will apply directly.
